This seems to be different than the other installer issues. I actually can
install the installer without any error messages. Problem is, I am missing
the msiexec.exe file. Don't know where it went or when it went away. I'm
guessing after the 3.1 v2 patch update.
Anyway, I have tried numerous remedies, taken from the Microsoft
knowledgebase as well as other sources. I've tried a registry cleaner.
Uninstalling the installer. Cleaning out the temp folder. Everything I could
try within my own power. In the end, that file is always missing. And without
it, I can't use any installs or updates that require it... like iTunes, for
example, and some important Windows updates.
Any ideas? |

That happens..To fix that,go to run,type:msiexec /unregister Then type:
msiexec /regserver

That was probably the first thing that I tried which clued me in as to what
my issue is. The file is physically not there. Cannot unregister something
that doesn't exist.
