ok the program starts fine and even lets me import video files fine. but
when i go to drop them into the time line to edit them the program gives me
the "windows movie maker has encountered a problem and needs to shut down".
when i sent the error report i clicked on the more information and it said
that they had updates that if i downloaded them it would fix the problem i
did that and it didnt work it does the same thing. could some one please help

WMM will only work with specific file types, WMM *cannot* edit/produce
MPEGs, quicktime, RM, Divx or a number of video file types.
If the file types are WMV or DV-AVI which should be OK with WMM
then goto the WMM group
microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker
microsoft.public.windowsxp.video
