Previously was using Word 2002. That Version included "Delivery Point
Barcode" that you could add to your Printed evelope which I understood based
on the mailing address Zip Code addec the Zip Code in the form of a barcode
which inturn sped up the mailing of the letter as Post Office scanners read
this delivery Point Barcode.

I have not been able to find this option to Add to the printing of Evelopes
with Office Word 2007. Is it still an Option?

You can still insert a BarCode field manually, but the option is not
available in the Envelopes dialog because the POSTNET bar code produced by
the field was no longer USPS-compliant. See "The POSTNET bar code that Word
generates no longer qualifies for USPS bulk mailing discounts" at

How can I manually insert a bar code? The link provided explains why the
option is no longer in the evelope Dialog...but not how to create it manually.

There's no reason for you to put a PostNet barcode (the only kind Word
can do without third-party assistance) on any mail. The post office
will have to go to extra effort to cover your useless barcode and
print a barcode in the correct current format, so you'll actually slow
the delivery of your mail.

If you really _must_ do it, though, here's how:

1. Insert a bookmark that covers the address, or at least the zip code
(which must be a US 5-digit or 9-digit ZIP or ZIP+4).

2. Place the cursor where you want the barcode.

3. On the Insert ribbon, in the Text group, click Quick Parts and then
click Field in the dropdown.

4. In the Field dialog, select BarCode from the list of field names.
In the Field Properties area in the center of the dialog, select the
bookmark from step 1. In the Field Options area, confirm that the
PostNet option is checked. Click OK.
