Why is it other states (like Texas) can only seem to produce wimpy
governors. I guess all states can't be California.

Schwarzenegger: California will sue federal government

(CNN) -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to sue the
federal government over its decision not to allow a California plan to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions, he announced Thursday.
Environmental Protection Agency chief Stephen Johnson announced the
decision Wednesday, refusing the state's request for a waiver that
would have allowed it to cut emissions faster than a new federal plan
the president signed into law Wednesday.

"It's another example of the administration's failure to treat global
warming with the seriousness that it actually demands," the governor
said at a news conference Thursday.

Bush on Thursday defended the decision of his EPA administrator.

Now let's see if I have this right:

Schawarzenegger want to decrease emissions in California
by increasing pollution standards and the EPA
DOES NOT WANT THIS AND BLOCKED HIM?

And BUSH AGREED WITH THEM???????????????????????

Well this is a great day for OPEC. On WHOOSE side
exactly is Bush and the EPA on????

I can't believe I'm reading this.

EPA actually DENIED California allowance to raise their emission
standards????? And Bush thinks thats OK?????????????????

Is there NO LIMIT to Bush administration HYPOCRISY???????

There clearly isn't.

However, there may be a silver lining to this, as Schwarzenneger may
end up finally putting the boot in the ass of these wimpy corporate-
servant-class neo-cons (that the Democrats should have put there a
long time ago, but got too caught up in posturing for next year to
actually do).

I think the neo-con strategy of using and disgarding their more useful
supporters (like they did with Powell) is coming home to roost.
Arnold Schwarzenneger is remembering his Election-saving-speech on
Bush's behalf in 2004, and is now contemplating how to avoid having
Bush's stench do to him what it did to Powell (who was, prior to being
used to promote faulty intelligence, considered a leading prospect for
a future presidential run). Arnold clearly never had the respect for
"junior" that he held for his war hero father anyway, so kicking
Junior's ass would be just the recipy for positioning himself as a
popular maverick at a time when the public is most disgusted with Bush
line tow-ers.

Being the guy who kicked Junior's ass would make for very good
positioning in a future Senate run, which has got to be high on his to-
do list. Now, if only he would dump the slush-fundican party entirely
and become an independent.

I feel that most fail to understand why some might be against California
having different pollution limits for cars than other states. It's
possible that having different laws can cause problems in maintaining an
effective nationwide policy. The cars would have to be made differently
for California than other states. That can cause quite a bit of havoc.
Most cars aren't made in California. I dont know how it may pan out
but I can see how a single uniform limit for all cars built nationwide
will be easier to manage, enforce and maintain than different laws
spread around the country.

OPEC, the United Arab Oil League, and dedicated
fossil fuel advocates for the preservation of the internal
combustion engine everywhere thank you for your
opinion.

California traditionally has had tougher standards for cars because
its pollution problems (ozone, etc.) have been more severe due to
higher population density, the mountains east of LA that impede air
circulation, etc. LA's smog problem is well known. It's been that
way for decades!

What kind of anti-states-rights B.S. argument is this? Are you saying
you are also for repealing the rights of states to have no sales tax
(such as Oregon), or no property tax (such as Washington), because
others have those things?

Because it's a crock.

Global Warming is a crock to a prominent science fiction writer and a
handfull of scientists on the payroll of Exxon. The overwhelming
ballance of the scientific community believes man driven global
warming to be a reality.

Having listened to shills touting the "we don't want to wait for the
evidence if that evidence comes in the form of a mushroom shaped
cloud" line in favor of a pre-emptive war in Iraq, I am left wondering
what happened to that line now that the "evidence" will come in the
form of the end of the world as we know it.

What sorry disgraces sell-out-shills are who will sell out their
children's future because Rush Limbaugh told them to.
