The National Intelligence Estimate indicated that Iran had
discontinued its nuclear program and took the wind out of the sails of
those hawks who were urging action .

Bush/Cheney continue to argue, as far as I know, that Iran is a grave
threat and, would, if there were sufficient support, put the bad on
that nation.

Now comes Charles Krauthammer who tells us that the intelligence
community had siezed control, with a successful coup, of the Bush
policy by ''misleadingly trumpeting that Iran had halted'' [it's
program].

Krauthammer insists that Iran continues to enrich uranium using 3000
centrifuges and once they have the fuel ,it would only be a matter of
months before they could put together a bomb. It is somewhat
problematic to understand, if the preceeding is correct, why the
Russians would give Iran, as was reported, nuclear fuel since,
according to Krauthammer, the Iranians are well on their way to
producing their own.

Given the Bush/Cheney truth record it becomes very difficult for the
average person, who is engaged full time in earning their daily bread,
to make informed decisions as to what is the correct scenerio. I'm
not even sure what's going on in Iraq...and sure as God made little
green apples, I have no intention of going there on vacation to find
out!

Funny how the NIE and the intelligence agencies of several other nations
were all "100% wrong" about Iraq in the eyes of the left-wing and the
like-thinking kooks that populate this and other NG's (such as flanier); but
suddenly have 100% credibility to those same people because it's telling
them something they "want" to hear about Iran.

Lemme put it into as few syllables as a Pusscake needs: If the
"intelligence" wasn't reliable enough to start a war then, it's not
reliable enough to start a war now.

Combining the words "intelligence" and "Clave" in any one sentence or phrase
is an oxymoron, to say the least.

Says the poster who ran with the Jason Leopold story like a 5-yr old with a
new toy. Talk about embarassment. We're still waiting for you to own-up on
that one. But, being the coward that you are, breath is not being held.

Yah, that's what I said!.

What's funny about the neo-con line of reasoning being repeatedly
floated by the likes of the fictionaly Colonel is that it is based on
the presumption that intelligence resources do not learn from past
mistakes (i.e. allowing themselves to be guided into cherry-picking
their own data to produce the reports Dick Cheney told them to, in
exchange for a future medal of freedom for then CIA Director Tenet).
This line of resoning would require us to assume NASA Engineers would
pay no more heed to risk statements on Space Shuttle O-Rings after the
Challenger disaster of 1986.

What complete bafoons these shills make themselves to be.

Rational people realize that our intelligence agencies simply decided
that they no longer wished to wear the coat of egg on their face that
their passive support for the Tenet/Cheney/Bush misinformation
campaign of 2003 gave them

No it isn't. Your post is an obvious slap at the Bush administration and
nothing more. The question put to you was a simple one. Why was the intel
"wrong" on Iraq and correct on "Iran"? Why are you such a bald-faced liar?

"Embarassment" is picking up on a unsubstantiated news story on a nut blog
and then posting it to Usenet groups as gospel and making bogus predictions
about the "imminent" indictment of a top government official. The
embarassment you brought on yourself was amplified by your cowardly
reluctance to own-up to your blunder. You spend so much time and effort
trying to point out mistakes made by other posters that you are unable to
deal with the multiple gaffes you lay on us almost daily. Asshole.
