|
|
winword /a goes okay
but any other means, e.g. clicking on .doc attachement in Outlook
causes Word to stall, requiring task manager kill
if I click on desktop icon, i get
please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office....
before Word opens then stalls
if I run from start menu, this message doesn't appear
I looked in Knowledge Base, among others
290771, 326514, 211541, 291475
I tried what was suggested: removing normal.dot and
the registry key. There were no add-ins or startup items.
I removed Work, reinstalled it, then applied SP1a and SP3.
*** BUT IT IS STILL CONSTIPATED ***
what other laxative can I try?
Excel, PowerPoint, Access and FrontPage have no such problems.
