Hi,

i'm in need to some help. My laptop was slowing down on boot up and shut
down. I used the recovery disk twice to install xp again. Unfortunately i
lost "my documents" files but can see them with certain recovery software. My
main issue is that my hard drive seem to run on two or three partitions. I
managed to use boot.ini. to select the proper boot up. How can i reclaim back
more of my hard drive and how can i start with my orgininal set up by getting
rid of the rogue added domain/s. Windows XP files are loaded twice. I would
love to format my C: drive but i'm scared that the preinstalled windows xp
will not start up with the recovery disk.

please help where possible
thanks

It would be most unusual for a recovery cd to create a new partition and
winxp installation.
Perhaps you need to vist the manufacturers site, or examine your laptop
bumph, to find out how exactly your PC was set up when supplied.
It may well have been set up with two partitions & a recovery partition.

What are the sizes of your partitions?
Which partitions/folders is winxp installed on?
