I am using the List of Tables feature in Word. Is it possible to not have the
word “Table” appear in the actual List? I know I can delete them all, but
when I update the table, all my changes disappear. Also, if I can remove the
term “Table,” can I make it so #1-9 are one digit shifted as to line up
better with 10-99?

Word does the following:

Table 1: Title I placed .................. 1
Table 2: Another title.....................2
Table 10: Additional Title .............50

I want the following:

1: Title I placed .......................... 1
2: Another title.............................2
10: Additional Title ......................50

Thank you a lot!

You can accomplish this, but not straightforwardly. You'll need to create TC
fields containing the caption alone (without the number at all), and create
a TOC based on "table entry fields" only. Then apply numbering to the TOC
style you're using for the List of Tables. You can format the numbering as
right-aligned. Assuming you don't want numbering applied to the entries in
your actual TOC, use a lower-level style (TOC 4 or 5, say) for the List of
Tables, and include that level number in your TC field (you can modify the
TOC style to have the appropriate indent, that is, less indent than it has
by default).

I previously went back and assigned levels for my Table of Figures, but was
hoping to not have to do that for the Table of Tables. It seems Word placed
the Tables into the EntryIdentifier letter F (the letter that represents the
specific table after “/f.”). Is it possible to actually directly modify F ?
I can access all other TOC codes directly in the bookmarked text.

Thank you.

If you create the List of Tables as a Table of Figures, you can choose Table
as the caption label and clear the check box for "Include label and number."
But then you'll still have to add the numbering to the TOC field used.
