I have scanned all over the forms for information because I can not get
my windows XP pro to recognize my canon Elura 80 mini DV, I have been
all over Canons support site and it says that XP dose not need nor does
Canon have a driver and that XP will automatically recognize the DV
camcorder, funny thing is I have been professionally trained and
produced TV shows operating a Sony $65,000.00 3/4 beta now I find myself
not even able to upload to YouTub, I have a IEEE port and cord as Canon
says so please all you XP pros out there help me keep up with my
Grandkids I need this, thanks in advance
regards Thom

XP won't recognize your Mini DV camera as a separate drive ore something
like that - you'll need some sofware to capture your movie. Windows
Movie Maker comes pre-installed on XP - have you tried it? Start >
Accessories > Windows Movie Maker.
