Does MS Works 7 database have a size limit? A limit on the number of
records, records X fields, or the size of the file?
I was working with a database and got an "Out of Memory" message. I saved
the database then continued, adding more entries, and it didn't happen
again. So it could have been a temporary system glitch, but it made me
wonder if I'm bumping up against some kind of internal limit of MS Works.
That database has about 750 records, 9 fields, and the file size is 90 KB. I
expect to expand it to about 2500 records if that's possible...?

Something around 32,000 records, and 256 fields.
You did not mention your computer system.
With W98 and an old celeron chip, my MSWorks would flip out
around 26,000 records and 240 fields
XP under P4 drives it flawlessly, you can bludgeon it to your hearts
content.

Well you should be fine, I cannot comment on MSWorks 7, I have 4.5a
which always used to dislike out of date printer drivers, and out of memory
was a usual glitch.
Good luck. |
