With Hide Inactive Icons checked in the taskbar properties my icons do not
hide nor does the little arrow - think you call a chevron - show. It works on
my husbands ID/account no problem but I can not get it to work on mine.

Bit of history - It used to work and I have had problems in the past when
it's stopped working before - usually after I've added or updated software
(different kinds) which is what I did this time as well.

Have tried unchecking hid inactive icons, restarting rechecking it and
restarting, a disk cleanup and defrag and even cleaned my registry.

Any ideas? Know it's not important but it bugs me when somethings not
working right on my system Smile Thanks for any help you can provide.

Nevermind. The day after I posted it miraculously fixed itself and is now
working fine.

Personally, I wouldn't use this anyway. It gives a false sense that you
system is running smoother than it actually is. The name itself is very
misleading. Those icons really are NOT "inactive". They're using system
resources just like any other program that is running. If you don't want to
see them, you are better off setting whatever it is that shows up down there
to NOT START at boot, unless you absolutely need it to run all the time.
Your computer will thank you for it, and you will probably notice an
increase is system response and speed.

On average, roughly 60% of the crap that you see running in your task bar is
un-needed and just wasting system resources.
