Gears of War (PC) Crash

Hi,

I have an Alienware Athlon system, ATI X1800 and more than the minimum specs
for CPU/memory. Also installed is latest AMD CPU driver, ATI driver,
DirectX, Gears of War TU, and windows updates. I am getting the following
error:

I had the same problem and i seem to have solved it. What i did was patch the
game(head

for the latest patch, download it and install) and when that didnt work i
used msconfig and disabled all of my non essental applications and services
from startup. Look a couple posts down and look for my posts and look what i
did.
