Hi just been reading in PC Pilot Mag that if using rudders then in the
control panel in FSX the null zones should be moved all the way to the left
this is also the same for the brakes, hope this helps

the rudder yaws to the right uncontrollably w/o any input. It goes full
right by itself. I've restored defaults, tried calibrating it, etc but no
luck. Once in awhile, it works fine but most of the time while flying, it
just moves by itself. It gets unbelievably annoying where I do not want to
play the game any more. Short of uninstalling the game, I've tried
everything. I tried add/remove programs and just used the "repair" function
in XP thinking that it would take care of it.
Any suggestions? PS- the rudder works fine flying in BF2 so it seems like
only FSX is the problem

Thanks. I did notice that and tried moving them to the left. It seemed to
work temporarily. But everytime I went back to the config page, it returned
to where it was before. I tried clicking "simple control" but when I went
back to that page, it changed back to "advanced".
Thanks for the tip. I think I will work on making the changes stick and
follow your advice. It seems to be on the right track.

Hi helpers,
I am relatively computer illiterate so don't talk in mumbo jumbo please.
I
have Microsoft XP and I seem to have lost my spider solitaire game off my
computer. My hubby has the sh**ts badly because he loves to play. Any
ideas
as to where it might have disappeared to. If I have accidently deleted
it,
how can I get it back ??
Go to Start
-> Control Panel
--> Add/Remove Programs
---> Add/Remove Windows Components
----> Double click Accessories and Utilities
-----> Double click Games and select what items you'd like to reinstall.
------> OK / Next your way out and setup will perform the operations, during
this point it may ask you for your Windows XP CD-ROM.

please read this
would you please go to www.belarc.com, click Free Download and download and
install the Belarc Advisor? It should display information about your system
in your web browser - if you press Ctrl + A to select it all, followed by
Ctrl + C to copy it to the clipboard, switch to your reply to this email and
press Ctrl + V to paste it into it.
Try this

Firstly, updating the Radeon Xpress 200 graphics card software seemed to
help a bit. then along came Microsoft KB929338, which seems to cure the
problem by resolving what they call a "race condition" affecting memory.
But
then, I'm sure you've already downloaded this from Microsoft Update, which
is
where I found it.

Did you ever get the spider solitaire problem resolved? I'm having the
same
problem with window XP on my DELL Inspiron. My wife loves this game but I
don't like the blue screens.

When playing Spider Solitaire from the integral games pack, with an
otherwise blank taskbar, and ONLY when playing Spider, I have been
getting
BSOD's, and crashes. Monitoring Task Manager whilst playing, I have
found
that at any point while playing the game, CPU usage will suddenly shoot
up
from between 0%-20%, up to 40%-55%. Even if at this point I exit the
game
completely, CPU usage continues at this level for a while until it
climbs
briefly to 100%, at which point Windows shuts down and I get the
dreaded
BSOD; DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have also seen this behaviour
commence AFTER exiting Spider. The only escape is to reboot before CPU
usage
climbs to 100%. (Or of course to refrain from playing Spider, but I do
not
consider that a fair workaround!)
I have tried copying and renaming Spider, configuring it to work in
compatibility mode for Win 2000, with no improvement.
Short of uninstalling Spider, any ideas, anyone? |

Hi Musing in Mesquite,
Your Mom will probably enjoy playing some of the flash
and java based games available at many popular and free
gamesites until you can borrow a CD Drive from a friend. :-)

For myself IG2 said the install failed but it worked. It would not run
though until I set the virtual memory to 512mb. I originally found it on a
Spanish site but just googling found it here too:
http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-462951.html
I have the other two games you mentioned AC never gave me any problems
except for some graphic glitches.
I War I couldn't get to work but I didn't put a lot of effort into it.
Good luck.

Chris,
I understand your concerns over security but I have a situtation where we
have computers (at work) which are all shared and we don't have individual
logins. It's not practical for us to set up each user to have his/her own
login. Saying that, is there any way to remove games permanently? Is there a
registry entry I could change or something under the policy I could change?

Maybe you should permit an occasional break as long as the work gets
done in a reasonable time and any calls or visits by customers or
suppliers are taken care of without delays to complete the game(s).
You could set yourself up on an administrator account WITH A PASSWORD
for maintenance and software installations. Don't tell ANYONE what the
password is unless you can trust them not to reinstall the games. Then
set up a shared limited user account without a password for general use.
MOST EFFECTIVE:
First, tell EVERYONE when playing games starts adversely affecting
productivity there WILL be unpleasant consequences. Then when someone
neglects their job to play games give them a few days unpaid vacation.
Make sure the offender is aware that the second offense will result in a
significantly longer vacation. If you're really feeling like being a
nice guy put a notification in their employment records that they were
individually warned about the game play and postpone the unpaid vacation
for the second offense. |
