Hi, my laptop crashed recently and now when I run my Word application,
Quote:
many of my previously normal formats - numbering, itemization, margins etc. -
does not work anymore properly. For example, when I try to make a list with
subheadings: 1., a., i., - this does not work anymore - it just does 1., 2., 3.,...
and then all margins, tabs are wrong when I try to adjust it manually...

What happened here and how can I fix it? -- is this related to the
Normal.dot template?

Thanks a bunch! Manuel Dawson

If the issue is with the Tab and Shift+Tab keys in outline-numbered lists,
do the following: In the AutoCorrect dialog box, click the AutoFormat As You
Type tab. Enable the option to "Set left- and first-indent with tab and
backspaces."

To display the dialog box: Office button | Word Options, Proofing category,
AutoCorrect Options button (Word 2007). Tools | AutoCorrect Options (Word
2003).
