I've got Word 2007. The default seems to be Calibri 12 and Bold for text.
I've tried to change it, but I can't find the location, especially I do not
want bold as default. How should I do it?
Thanks

Essentially the normal paragraph style is the default and this can be
modified like any other style in any Word version. Right click the style on
the home tab and whatever changes you make ensure that you check the radio
button 'New documents based on this template'. Save the normal template on
exiting Word.

Note that 2007 has rather more complex style set arrangements than earlier
versions which you may wish to explore.

For Word 2007, the recommended method for changing defaults is to modify the
Documents Defaults and leave your Normal style untouched. The easiest way to
do this is through the Font dialog box. On the Home tab, in the Font group,
click the Dialog Box launcher (arrow in the bottom right corner), make your
desired changes, and then click Default at the bottom.

Thanks for your response.

This is my first time on Word 2007 and I am not that good on computers.
Would appreciate more precise steps and explanations.

Right click the style on the home tab

I am unable to find this. Where is it?
And I do not want Bold to be the default.

Thanks

Take a look at the tabs across the top of the application window below the
Title bar (most likely blue) and find the one named "Home". Click that tab
to make sure it is selected. Then look across the bottom of the Ribbon (the
large item stretching across the top portion of your screen that contains
the tabs) and find the one named "Font". Each "box" of buttons is called a
group. It's the second one from the left. Then in the bottom right corner of
the Font group, click the small arrow. This should open the Font dialog box.

Failing the above, press Ctrl+Shift+F which are keys on the keyboard that
you need press at the same time -- don't release the keys until you press
all three.

Across the top of the Word 2007 screen is the ribbon which has several tabs.
The first of these is the Home tab. The current style is to the right of
centre and is highlighted. Right click that highlighted style.

The home tab is where I indicated in the other branch of this thread.
The fonts group is the second section from the left - clue: It says Fonts at
the bottom of the section. In the bottom right hand corner of this group
there is a tiny arrow. Click that!
