OK, I finally got my home theater finished (in relative terms) and my 360
connected to my DSL. Last night, I got tired of playing Legacy alone, so
I decided to try it out on Live. I noticed that a lot of people would
come and go when I would host a game. One guy was nice enough to kill all
of my ships in less than 3 minutes (apparently, I need more practice).

Can someone point me towards a web sites that outlines some good manners
and practices for playing on Live? I joined one game that was forming up,
but got kicked for no reason I'm totally clear on. I can only assume I
did something wrong, but I'm not sure what it was.

With Legacy, you can host up to 3 other players. Is the usual etiquette
to wait until all the slots are filled and then start or should I wait
some amount of time and go with less than 4 players?

Thanks!

ne.

Know the game before going online. Once online your going to run
across people like you discribed on every game out there. Just be
patient and when you do find some cool people that actually want to
play fair (according to your standard), chat with them and build a
good PAL/FRIEND list.

Also many games have leveled mathces, try and stay within your own
abilities.

Netiquette web sites would be good if we all payed by the same
rules, but we don't.

Use common sense be respectful and find other players who have the
same standards as you, is all about we can do.

Remember my standard might not be the same as yours and that doesn't
make it wrong, just different. If you don't like the way another
plays.......move on to someone new.

BTW you getting on here and asking that very question makes you OK
in my book, shows to me you care enough to ask first.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the tips, Dave. I haven't gotten a headset for chat yet, but
am going to pick up the cam/headset/12 mos. subscription pack during
lunch today.

A-ha.....so you are one of those that purchased that CORE console
without the HDD huh? Oh well more power to you.... but may I know
just for my compilations why you picked the CORE over the Premium
other than the difference in price? Cheers.

No, I did not buy the core console. I don't recall mine coming with a
headset. However, I wanted the cam and a Live subscription, which was
cheaper in the bundle than buying them individually.

As far as I know, there are no consoles that come with a subscription and
a cam. I know that Circuit City had one or two bundles of consoles,
accessories and games, but I don't think any of them included the cam et
al. As I recall, when I did the math, their bundles were more expensive
than the individual components.

I did go buy the HD DVD, but took it back. Since it wouldn't upscale on
my setup, I bagged it in favor of a standard DVD player that upscales to
1080P. Though, for the life of me, I can't say that I see any real
difference. At least I finally got to use one of my HDMI ports.
