I have two computers on the same network, same workgroup, same subnet,
etc. They can ping each other and can view each other in explorer
through \\computername. The computer names are krausch-tablet and
krausch-laptop, and are running XP Tablet 2005 and Vista Ultimate
respectively. The vista machine has a public folder which was visible
to the xp machine off the bat, but it had another shared folder given
permissions for my local account stored on vista. When I tried
connecting to \\krausch-laptop\privateshare from the xp machine I was
denied access as was expected. I mapped the privateshare to the xp
machine and provided a separate user/pass to match the credentials on
Vista, I was now able to connect to \\krausch-laptop\privateshare
because XP has my password cached I suppose. Now I unmapped the
connection but can still connect to the privateshare even after
restarting the XP machine. How can I clear the authentication cache on
windows so that \\krausch-laptop\privateshare is not accessible once
more from XP? |
