Periodically I modify the macros & forms in Word templates that reside
in the user's Word\Startup directory. When I copy the newly modified
templates to the various workstations in the office, the templates often lose
the library references.
Does anyone know if:
1. There is a way to prevent the loss of the library references?
2. There is a script or macro that could be run to restore a specified list
of references?
3. There is a better way of accomplishing what I am trying to do, i.e.,
replace the macros and forms in the users' templates with the newly revised
set of macros and forms?

Any suggestions/ideas/references to literature explaining what to
do and why..... would be much appreciated. Thanks, Marceepoo

Thanks,

What is the Word version used to create the templates and what is the Word
version of the problematic machines?

Cher Maitre:

It is nice of you to reply in French (Which is excellent), but since this is
an English-speaking/writing NG, let's continue in English.

Am I wrong in thinking that you are referring to the old Word 5.1 for Mac's
(Released in 1991 or 1992)? I will not believe that you are referring to the
5.1 version for DOS...!!!
If it is the case, then you should probably asked in a Mac NG.
Otherwise, tells us a bit more on how you update the old templates with the
new macros.

Marceepoo has provided you with the Windows version number - Windows XP
Service pack 2, not the Word version number. If it were Word 5.1, it would
be a version for Mac that had no programming language at all, or a version
for DOS that relied on old-fashioned keyboard macros (pre WordBasic!).

Marceepoo: In Word, go to Help, About Microsoft Word. The version number we
are looking for is the first line of text below the caption of the dialog
that appears.

Ha! I didn't want to tell him that I didn't believe he was using Word
5.1....
Thanks Jonathan.
