windows update does not work - please help!!!

On my windows xp media center laptop, when I run Windows update, I get this
strange message

Sorry I overlooked what Windows you were using, my bad.
How I know your browser is Version Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.3790.2992. That's
easy because I can see inside your system and have taken all your
files...VBG, just kidding. Right click on my reply and choose Properties
then click the Details tab.
