I don't know what 32-bit windows operating system means or 64-bit operating
system means either, STUPID yes. I need a new anti virus & it asks if I have
64-bit OP. SYS. or 32-bit? Previosly I have opted for the 32-bit installer
when downloading my anti virus.
I have an Iqon processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ 2.20 GHZ, 960MB
of RAm. Running win. XP S.P.2. IQON do not provide a manual for this
processor, when I purchased it I phoned them to say I didn't get a manual
they replied "we do not provide a manual, what is it you want to know?"
So I can't refer to a manual.
Could any one shed light on this please, all I have gathered so far from my
research is that a 64-bit op. Sys. is more powerful & there for found on
power pc's.

Almost everyone has a 32-bit operating system, and almost everyone who
doesn't know which he has is even more likely to have a 32-bit
operating system. But to be sure, hold down the Windows key and press
Pause/Break. If you have 64-bit Windows, it will be reported as such
there.

Cheers Ken,
I Had already looked in the system properties & found nothing about 32-bit
or 64 bit, which is why I asked, Normally I have always gone for the 32-bit
installer option & everything was spot on so assumed it was 32-bit, I just
decided i'd like to find out a bit more about the bits.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
