If it's a built-in template, provided by Word, you should be able to
uninstall it (I don't know the exact steps for doing this on the Macintosh
system, though).

If it's a custom template, just delete it in the user templates folder
(whose location you should be able to find out by looking in the File
Locations dialog box).

We are using Microsoft Word 2003 in our ICT Dept.

We are experiencing a small issue and would like some advice.

We have templates stored on a network folder.
If somebody opens the template and them selects ‘Save As’ to create a .doc
copy on their local machine and then opens the .doc to make changes, it opens
the original template back on the network folder as ‘Read Only’.

This creates a problem for people wanting to make changes into the original
template.

How can we resolve this?

I'm no IT Pro (have never been responsible for a network), so take the
following FWIW. An elegant solution seems to be to not store the
templates on the networt, but to download them on the user's machine
(logon script). That way, you never have a problem updating the
templates (users just need to logoff/on to get the lates state); and
your folks can work whenever they don't have access to the file server
(server down or out of office with their laptops ...).
