Word 2007 Watermark

I'm trying to put a "Draft" watermark in a Word 2007 document but it is only
putting the watermark on one page. If I move to the next page and try
putting it on again, it just moves it to that page. I think it may be
happening because I have alot of section breaks set up, but I don't want to
remove the section breaks because I need them to have different Headers on
each page. Any suggestions?

Obviously you've already got the sections set up and unlinked, so you're
going to have to add the watermark to each section separately. In future, if
you want to add such a watermark, it would be prudent to do it before
inserting any section breaks (but note that you'll then have to remove it
separately from each section). If your printer offers the option, it would
be a lot simpler to apply the watermark using the printer driver rather than
Word.

Alternatively, you can simply insert a custom (printed watermark), which
will appear on all pages of a Word 2007 document regardless of how many
sections you create with unlinked headers and of whether or not you use
Different Odd and Even Pages or Different Fiirst Page settings.

On the Page Layout tab, click the Watermark button to display the gallery
and menu. Do not select from the gallery; the display of any watermark
inserted from here will be affected by sections with unlinked headers, etc.

Click Custom Watermark to display the Printed Watermark dialog box.

Click the Text Watermark radio button. Make your selections here; you can
also enter any text you like.

Click OK.

Any watermark initially inserted from this dialog box will appear on every
page in every section even if the headers are unlinked, even if Different Odd
and Even Pages check box is checked and even if the Different First Page
check box is checked.

This behavior is doubly puzzling because you can entry a watermark from the
gallery and then edit it in this same Printed Watermark dialog box; however,
its behavior will not be the same as if you had inserted it initially using
the Custom Watermark command.

Glad I could help. The other two suggestions were absolutely true re
versions of Word prior to Word 2007; as I apply watermarks nearly every day,
I was delighted to see that Microsoft has given us another option.

The fact that using the Watermark gallery inserts the Watermark in the
current section/story only and the Custom Watermark dialog box inserts it in
all sections/stories would be considered a bug. I found this during the beta
but it's one I didn't report (and have no plans to report) since it's nice
to have both options. ;-)
