This update cannot be removed.
How do we removed the update that can't be removed?

Were you able to remove it through the std. 'add n remove' in control panel?
My machine says it can't be removed and I don't have a "remove" button to
click on.

Uninstall KB943460
This one is causing the problem.

Thanks Michael! I just noticed it the last couple days and thought
maybe one of my own scripts was causing it! LOL.

Hmmmm I removed it on many machines now.. KB943460 is akin to a virus if you
ask me...
Although it does pop up and say programs may not work right after the
KB943460 is removed
I said screw it and did it anyway.. all the programs that it said were
supposed to have problems.. have all been fine with the thing removed...

OK! A couple of you guys say you've removed it but you still haven't
answered the question as to how you did it.
How?
My machine doesn't give me a "Remove" button to remove it in "Add and Remove
Programs".
Are you using a different utility to remove it?

I have noticed this issue as well. When I first discovered the problem, I did my homework and removed the kb943460 Patch from a PC to test it.After a reboot all is well again. On that note, I did a clean install of XP SP2 recently and installed that patch first, just to test it. Bad move on my part, Now I can't remove it after other updates were installled after it.
**UPDATE***
Ok guys, this just in ! If you are trying to automatically remove this update from the Add/Remove Programs, and windows will not give you the Option to remove it, DO IT MANUALLY ! Here is how to do it:
Browse to the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB943460$\spuninst\
Run the file spuninst.exe in that folder and manually remove the Hotfix. After
the reboot, everything should be good. Hope this helps everyone. !
Cheers !

Robert,
Thanks for that info. I'll have to try that.
As an update, we have several Pc's running XP sp2 and I found one that
didn't have IE7 yet but it had the perverbially kb943460 patch and it "has"
the remove button available in 'add and remove programs' to uninstall that
patch. My Pc's with IE7 AND kb943460 "don't" have the remove button
available in 'add and remove programs'.
I'm wondering if this patch and IE7 have something in common. I haven't had
time to load IE7 to find out but I'm going to test this Pc to
see...curiosity is getting the best of me now.
Does anyone know for sure?
