This is the first link as a Tiny
Place your cursor on the link
RIGHT click
Select: Save target as
(Do not select any other option)
The dialog will appear
Select what folder to save to
It will be saved as a WMV

http://tinyurl.com/3xfuo5

With my right click I don't have a "Save target as" but a "Save link
target as". However, clicking on that now gives me a save box and when I
save the file it opens OK. Second however, when I click on

There is something amiss if you're not getting "Save target as"
This is an XP group, so have you a fully uptodate and patched XP -
SP2, hotfixes etc
What browser -IE7?

*my* URL http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=exyJ2CSfrHo I get a box that says
save, but it saves only the html page (in what looks like Japanese) that
the video is on. It does not save the video.

No you won't get "Save target as" option with youtube, you're mixing
them up, the first one which is a WMV and you should get the save option
the second is a adobe streaming video in flash format.

I did what you said and low and behold there was now a play button and a
download arrow. I clicked the download arrow and the file was downloaded
and works. However, when I click on my URL:
http://www.flixxy.com/voice-talent-opera-singer.htm I only get the play
button and not the download arrow.

This also is adobe flash, and like YouTube, Right clicking will not
give you option to "Save target as".
The flixxy clip is actually an embedded link to the YouTube clip.
(If you view the YouTube click you will see there is an "embed"
link for users to embed the clip to their websites etc, that is what
someone has done, embedded the link in flixxy but it is actually
opening the YouTube clip.)

YouTube (and Google) are taking various measures to block downloaders
and grabbers such as Vixy etc. For the YouTube clip of opera singer you
want, you could try this freeware
http://www.save2pc.com/

You have to download and install it, the site gives full instructions
and it is free.

I'm using WinXP Pro with SP2 and all of the updates except IE7. I use
Mozilla and when that doesn't work I use IE6.

Interesting information. I infer that you couldn't get my URL's to
work. Thanks. By the way I didn't right click on the YouTube URL, I
just clicked on it. What I was trying to convey was that I could click
on *your* YouTube URL and I get both the play arrow and the download
arrow, but if I clicked on *my* YouTube URL, I got only the play arrow.

I'll give the above freeware a try.

I said I get a "Save link target as..." which is true in Mozilla. In
IE6 I get a "Save Target as...". I don't know if there is a "real"
difference in these two expressions or whether it's just a matter of
semantics.
