I'm hoping to get this working before I start travelling. Basically I
signed up for WIndows Live Messenger, I have tried the past few days to get
an email verification sent to my email address. I disabled ALL spam
settings (I know this because I am getting cialis ads) and I still get
nothing.
Comcast says ev erything is OK on their end.Is there a way I can do this
manually?

here is what they told me...

Hi Justin,

Thank you for contacting Windows Live Messenger Technical Support. My name
is Dave and I'll be glad to assist you with your concern.

Based on the information I received, I understand that you still haven't
been able to verify your email address emailaddress@isp.com with Windows
Live Messenger. I also understand that you've disabled your spam filters
through Comcast's application but still have not received the verification
e-mail. I know the importance of this issue is to you. Please know that I
will do my best to resolve your concern.

Justin, you will need to register your account for a Microsoft Network
Passport credential to use your email name as your sign in (EASI).

Just to give you a heads up, an Email As Sign In (EASI) account is a Windows
Live ID that is created by using an e-mail address that is not part of
Windows Live or MSN (this means no @msn or @hotmail address). For example,
you can create a Windows Live ID by using an e-mail address from one of the
following domains:

- yahoo.com

- gmail.com

When you create an EASI Windows Live ID, you must confirm that you own the
account that you used to create it with. You will receive a Windows Live
validation e-mail message at the e-mail address that you used to create the
EASI Windows Live ID.

To register, here are simple steps that you should follow:

1. Visit http://login.live.com

2. Click "Sign-up."

3. Click "Yes use my e-mail address," and then click "Continue."

my email address is already being used.

4. Complete all the fields, and then click "Continue."

5. Retype the e-mail address in the "Review and sign the Agreements" section
on page 7.

6. Click "Accept."

7. Click "Continue" to sign in to the Microsoft Passport Network.

If you have performed the steps above, please sign up your account for you
to be provisioned to use Windows Live Messenger. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to http://ideas.live.com

there is no Windows Live Messenger link

2. Click on the Sign Up link under Windows Live Messenger.

3. Accept the Terms and Conditions and get automatically signed up for
Windows Live Messenger.

I hope these steps resolve your concern with Windows Live Messenger. If you
need further assistance, you may contact us at http://support.live.com. For
additional information and self-help instructions, visit
https://account.live.com/HelpCentral.aspx and choose "Windows Live
Messenger" from the drop-down menu.

Thank you for contacting Windows Live Messenger Technical Support. Have a
great day.

Sincerely,

Dave

Windows Live Messenger Technical Support

Hi Justin,

Ah, sometimes they can be more helpful than other times. I know others have gotten
themselves verified using this method, you just have to reach the right person.

I'm not getting the right person.
I just received the same thing over and over again. they want me to create
a goddamn MSN account which I _already_ have. Akeem apparently doesn't
understand that so I sent him a screen shot.

Hi Justin,

I'm sorry, I wish I could be of more help with this. If I had access to this stuff, I'd just
hit the switch. I can assure you that your account will work just fine un-verified, minus
the fact you won't be able to change your display name. It won't be deleted or anything like
that.
